Muhammad Sohial

Mr Muhammad Sohail is an Information Technology industry specialist with nearly 22 years of results-driven experience in national and international organizations. He had served in public, corporate and social sectors in leading roles.

Mr Sohail earned a Master’s Degree (MCS), various professional training, and certifications from reputable national and international entities, such as MCSE, CCNA, ITIL, PMP, and many others.

Further, Mr Sohail is amongst the core-group working on his Companies’ Strategic, Regulatory, and Technological Roadmap, and other matters of importance to the organization.

Conclusively, Mr Muhammad Sohail has served in almost every section of Information Technology and Information Security and currently serving as Director of IT & MIS at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) with the mission of digitization.


The mission of IT Department is to provide quality public services in a timely and competent manner with the help of system implementation, and to work with the cooperation of the departments and other units to create a vibrant and healthy physical, social and economic environment. Services shall be provided in a fair, respectful and professional manner consistent with available equipment and human resources. The ultimate mission is to inspire hope and contribute to health and well-being by providing the best care to every patient through integrated clinical practice, education and research.

The vision of the IT Department of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences is to implement system with knowledge needed to ensure accessibility, accuracy, availability, integrity, and security of patient health information.  
The healthcare industry today is dynamic, both from efforts within itself to seek new and improved health care delivery systems, and from external developments, in the areas of basic and applied sciences and technology.
As a vital part of the health care industry, the health information profession must also be dynamic. To meet these needs, the human resources of PIMS must be prepared for and willing to accept a multifaceted role as a member of the healthcare team – as administrator, planner, consultant, educator, researcher, and practitioner. The ultimate vision is to see PIMS a role model for all other public sector institute of Pakistan.
