The faculty of the urology department includes a consultant surgeon, surgeon and associate surgeon. There are two qualified medical officer and specified number of postgraduate residents.
OUT PATIENT DEPARTMENT
The OPD of Urology department is functional six days a week. The faculty members along with their team deals in all kind of adult and pediatric urological disease.
The majority of the patients presents with following diseases
- UTIs
- Renal tract stone disease
- Prostatic disease
- Urethral stricture disease
- Uro-cancers
- Congenital anomalies
- Genitourinary fistulae disease
LITHOTRIPSY UNIT
The Extra corporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) has revolutionized the treatment of urinary stones disease.
The urology department is equipped with most advance HMV lithotripter with state of art of facility of diagnostic imaging. The facilities available in this lithotripsy unit include
· ESWL
· Percutaneous nephrolothotomy
· URS with insitu lithotripsy
· Percutaneous nephrostomy and D J stenting under fluoroscopy
OPERATION THEATRE
The urology operating room is a separate purpose built unit located on 1st floor of the hospital in main operation theatre.
It has state of the art equipments for all endourological and open surgical procedures including the renal transplantation. The operating room is also equipped with a separate fluoroscopic apparatus for diagnostic imaging during various surgical procedures.
