The Department of Anaesthesiology, Pakistan

in 1987.
The first anaesthetic was administered by Brig. Ashraf Khan and Maj. Sakina Jaffery in the Main operation theatres. Dr. Sakina Jaffery was inducted as Consultant Anaesthetist because it was envisioned that this department will have to serve as a teaching and training facility in addition to the community services. It is needless to say that the department has been providing remarkable critical care services in all the three components of the Anaesthesia department.
The Department caters for Orthopaedic, ENT, Dental. General Surgery, Eye, Neuro Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology & Obstetrics and Paediatrics Surgery.
