  Department of E.N.T. (RESEARCH and ACADEMICS)



  • Department follows a structured training programme
  • The entire syllabus is covered under six subheadings as a bimonthly schedule followed by a MCQ's or short essay quiz
  • Six regular teaching sessions per week at the beginning of the day
    1. Morning lectures: Wed, Thur, Sat
    2. Clinco-Pathological Meeting: Monday
    3. Grand Round: Friday
    4. Journal Club: Friday
  • Joint Cancer Clinic with NORI: Friday (going on for last 15 yrs)
  • Regional Meetings (Isl/Rwp): 3 rd Wed. every 3 rd month (going on for last 10 yrs)
  • The department started publishing ENT Handbook in 1995 and this is updated regularly.
  • Medical record keeping is done by the post graduate residents
  • Video session for teaching surgical skills, Radiology session, Pathology slides review are part of the academic programme
  • Foreign Specialist Registrars, two from UK and one from Nigeria , have spent three months each in the department.
  • Two Temporal Bone Dissection Courses have been organized
  • FCPS Intensive Courses
